Tom Saxton is an Oxfordshire-based sculptor focusing mainly on the natural world. His work also explores broader themes within nature and humanity such as life, death, beauty and consciousness. He seeks to create work that has both character and story whilst still being aesthetically beautiful and visually engaging.
Having apprenticed as a pattern maker/model maker in the late 90’s and a career spanning three decades applying his skills in motorsport, automotive, art and the film industry he has an in depth knowledge of creating form and shapes. However it is his lifelong love of art that has fuelled his passion for sculpture.
Tom sculpts the majority of his original artworks in clay or wax, which he then has meticulously cast into the final bronze by skilled specialists at the renowned local art foundry, Lockbund Foundry.
Favouring this medium for its tradition and ability to capture dynamic forms and intricate details to ensure his original artwork is perfectly captured. The resilience of bronze also ensures that these works not only survive the elements but will also survive for many generations to come.
